Reading!

read about this man, then read his collected short works.

    And yes I know all about how famous Lolita was/is. hell it even became a verb. However I think people got it all wrong, about why it was written. See I can be serious!

  2. I tend to agree. Nabokov generally wrote about beauty, love and loss. He used an underaged nymphet because she puts the protagonist into an obvious crisis from the get-go, and lets him point out the basic tragic hilarity of the human situation. It's effectively a comedy.

    I think his shorter works are actually more important in a lot of ways. Or at least give a more multifaceted view of his themes.
